Two weeks after the Minnesota Wilderness opened its 2026-27 NAHL home schedule
vs. the Springfield Jr. Blues, the Jr. Blues return for another 2-game series. The
Wilderness and Springfield will meet at Northwoods Credit Union Arena this weekend,
Nov. 6-7.
The Wilderness swept the first matchup against the Jr. Blues on Oct. 23-24, winning 3-
1, Friday, and 4-0 Saturday.
Since that weekend, Springfield has secured its first victory of this season. Last Friday,
the Jr. Blues defeated the Wisconsin Windigo, 4-3, in a shootout, giving them their first
win since April 11, 2026. The following night, the Windigo forced the split in the series in
Springfield with a 5-2 win.
Meanwhile, Minnesota (9-7-0) has not won a game since it hosted Springfield (1-15-1).
Last weekend, the Wilderness dropped both contests in a series at Janesville, WI. The
Jets beat Minnesota 7-6, Friday, and followed with an 8-3 victory Saturday.
The Wilderness will feature a new forward in its lineup in this upcoming series. Cooper
Siegert was acquired in a trade earlier this week with the Aberdeen Wings. Siegert is a
5-foot-11, 175 pound 19-year-old in his second season of junior hockey. A native of
Faribault, MN, Siegert played his high school hockey at Shakopee High School.
Three local teams will also be honored in the two games. On Friday night, the
Wilderness will salute the Cloquet High School girls soccer team which won the Section
7 AA championship last month and advanced to the state tournament. On Saturday, the
Wilderness 18U and 16U AAA teams will be recognized for their efforts playing in the NAPHL Fall League, which wrapped up its season last weekend.
