The Minnesota Wilderness and Janesville Jets will be getting to know each other very
well over the next six weeks.
The Midwest Division rivals have six games on the schedule between now and Nov. 21
with the first two set for this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 16-17) in Janesville, WI.
Adding to the intrigue is the fact Minnesota and Janesville are tied for third in the
Midwest Division, and the six games they will play before the Thanksgiving holiday
could determine whether they remain in the upper half of the division.
The Jets have won their last three games. Last weekend, they swept the Springfield Jr.
Blues in a 2-game series at the Mercyhealth Arena in Janesville. On Oct. 9, Janesville
defeated the Jr. Blues, 5-1, and followed with a 6-1 win on Oct. 10.
The Wilderness just finished its first Alaska trip of the season winning three of five
games against the Kenai River Brown Bears and Anchorage Wolverines. In a 3-game
series at Anchorage Oct. 9-11, Minnesota won one contest – a 9-5 victory on Oct. 10, in
between two losses to the Wolverines, 3-1 on Oct. 9, and 5-4 on Oct. 11.
The Wilderness and Jets will also meet in Janesville on Oct. 30 and 31 and in Cloquet
on Nov. 20 and 21. Their final two regular season matchups are set for Feb. 12 and 13
in Cloquet.
Both of this weekend’s contests are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. CDT.
