Wilderness Split Weekend With 15 Man Shootout

CLOQUET, MN  – The Minnesota Wilderness beat the Bismarck Bobcats 3-0 on Friday, Jan 25th and lost in a shootout (3-2) on Saturday, Jan26th.

Captain Luke Dow kicked off the weekend, grabbing the first two goals of the weekend. Dylan Johnson finished an open netter in the third and the Wilderness took the W 3-0.

Saturday evening, #25 Brandon McNamara stole the puck from Bobcat defense in the slot and buried it behind netminder John Roberts.  #28 Jack Johnson netted a goal and the Wilderness tied the game 2-2, without a goal in overtime.

In the shootout, #29 Ben Ward threw on the brakes and backhanded the puck over Bobcat Goalie Roberts shoulder.

Wilderness Goal Tender #1 Ryan Fanti was able to stop 13 out of 15 shoot out attempts, but the Wilderness were unable to net another shoot out attempt, falling to the Bobcats.

The next Wilderness Home Game is Feb 2, at 7:35pm at Northwoods Credit Union Arena.
