Military Appreciation Weekend

The Minnesota Wilderness, fresh off winning 3 of the last 4 games against Brookings, will face division-foe Aberdeen this coming weekend at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. The Wilderness, who are in sole possession of 2nd place in the NAHL’s Central Division, have earned 20 of the last 26 possible points towards the standings – which helps them remain one of the hottest teams in the NAHL.

Wilderness Coach Tim Madsen: “Last weekend’s games showed our guys what playoff intensity is like. The energy that both teams had was very intense as we are hitting the home stretch of the season. Looking ahead to Aberdeen, we will have to be ready to go as they are a team that is talented and hard to play against. Again, we are focusing on playing our best hockey down the stretch so we peak at the right time.”

This weekend the Wilderness will be wearing specialty jerseys for Military Appreciation sponsored by Wells Fargo. All of the jerseys are up for bid on the “DASH Auction” app on all android and ios devices. There will be four different phases of jerseys on the app and each will be titled like so “Minnesota Wilderness Military Jersey Auction – Phase 1”. Six jerseys will be released everyday starting (Monday the 6th – Thurday the 9th). All bidding will go throughout the week and will end during the 3rd period of Saturday night’s game (around 9:00pm). All payments can be made through the DASH app. It is very user friendly but if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask Jordan Lundgren at 100% of the net proceeds go to local military families.

All military, active or veterans receive free admission this weekend for Military Appreciation. Friday night, Wells Fargo will be handing out military themed give aways in the lobby of the rink. Friday and Saturday night we will be recognizing soldiers of the game before the national anthem.
