Wilderness Split with Minot at Home

Minot 2 @ MN Wilderness 4 – The Wilderness closed the gap in the Central Division thanks to a 4-2 home win over the Minotauros. Alexander Esbjors had three points and two goals in the win, which was the Wilderness’ 5th in a row. After an opening goal from Minot’s Nate Pionk (6), the Wilderness scored four straight goals, which included two in the 1st period from Pavel Mikhasenok (8) and Dylan Mills (8). Esbjors took over with back-to-back goals to make it 4-1 early in the 3rd period. Reid Stefanson scored his 12th goal of the season late in the 3rd period for Minot to make it a 4-2 final. Trevor Micucci picked up his 5th straight win, making 23 saves, while Lucas Murray made 24 saves in the loss.


Minot 3 @ MN Wilderness 2 – Thanks to 36 saves from Lucas Murray, the Minot Minotauros salvaged a weekend split of their road series in Cloquet with a 3-2 win. Minot jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals in each period, which included a 1st period goal from Reid Stefanson (13), a 2nd period goal from Chase Springman (6) and a 3rd period goal from Colton Berg, his 1st of the season. The Wilderness made a comeback attempt thanks to two goals, first one from Nick Olczyk and the 2nd from Luke Dow  within a :37 second span in the 3rd period, but the Minotauros held on for the win. Luke Kania made 29 saves in the loss.
