MN Magicians 3 @ MN Wilderness 2 (OT) – The battle of Minnesota rivals went to overtime on Thursday night as the Magicians used the man-advantage in overtime to pick up a 3-2 road win in Cloquet against the Wilderness. It was a tale of three periods as the Magicians took a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the 1st period with a goal from John Siebenaler, his 5th of the season. The momentum swung towards the Wilderness in the 2nd period as they took a 2-1 lead on goals from Luke Dow and Tim Nicksic. For Nicksic, it was his team-leading 12th goal of the season. The Magicians ended up tying the game with just under two minutes to go in regulation and Nikita Kozyrev scored to knot the game at 2-2. In the overtime, the Magicians converted on a power play as captain Will Hammer tipped home a shot from the point that snuck through the legs of Wilderness goalie Luke Kania. Ivan Prosvetov made 25 saves in the win, while Kania made 35 saves in the loss.
FRIDAY, NOV 19TH
MN Wilderness 3 @ Coulee Region 2 (OT) – Michael Zuffante was named the overtime hero for Minnesota on Friday night, helping the Wilderness claim their victory over Coulee Region. Zuffante scored his game-winning goal just 1:44 into the overtime period. The Wilderness forced overtime by scoring two late third period goals from Tyler Vold and Dylan Mills. Coulee Region had led most of the contest, with the first two goals being scored by the Chill’s Jackson Decker and Billy Duma. The Wilderness’ Luke Kania took the win with 31 saves in net. Coulee Region’s Todd Scott was given the loss, despite a 47 save effort.
SATURDAY, NOV 20TH
MN Wilderness 5 @ Coulee Region 2 – It was the Dylan and Zach Mills show in Coulee Region on Saturday as the Cottage Grove, Minnesota natives each scored twice to lead the Wilderness to a 5-2 win on Saturday, completing a weekend road sweep of the Chill. Luke Dow opened the scoring for the Wilderness in the 1st period. Dylan Mills scored his first goal in the 2nd period, but that was matched by Coulee Region goals from Taylor Trapp and Larry Jungwirth. The Wilderness put the game on ice in the 3rd period with two goals from Zach Mills and another from Dylan Mills. Trevor Micucci made 25 saves in the win.
