Wilderness Start Main Camp

CLOQUET, MN – JUNE 26th, 2017 – The Minnesota Wilderness will begin their Main Tryout Camp today at Northwoods Credit Union Arena, as they continue to build a roster for the 2017-2018 season. Approximately 120 players from all across the world will be traveling to Cloquet in search of a roster spot for this upcoming season.

Head Coach Tim Madsen had this to say about Main Camp: “This is a very exciting time for our organization. In the fall, we will be starting our 5th season in the North American Hockey League, and our Main Camp is a very important step towards putting a product on the ice that our fans and community can be proud of. With 120 players competing for a roster spot, we expect camp to be ultra-competitive.

The Wilderness, who ended last season one overtime goal from returning to the Robertson Cup final, will have all veterans, tenders, draft picks, as well as numerous free agents at camp competing for an opportunity to play for the Wilderness. Potential veterans eligible to return to the Wilderness include: Ash Altmann, Nick Altmann, Luke Dow, Bryceton Butkiewicz, James Crossman, Eric Gotz, and Trevor Micucci.

Camp starts today with the first game at 6:00pm. The camp will conclude on Wednesday, June 28th with an all star game from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. It is open to the public and the Wilderness urge fans to attend.
