Friday night in Cloquet, Austin struck first when Brennan Sanford scored (1:13) assisted by Florian and Viitala. Michael Covach of the Wilderness was next to score in the first period (1:59) assists coming from Eric Brenk, first game with the Wilderness, and Dominik Tiffels. Ending the first period tied 1-1, the second period ended with no additional scoring. Scoring in the third was Thomas Lindstrom (3:43) assisted by Billey Exell and Will Peterson. Austin answered back when Easton Viitala scored (5:36) assisted by Sanford and Florian. Billy Exell scored the go ahead goal (8:11) assited by Thomas Lindstrom. FInal score 3-2.
Friday was the Wilderness First Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans brought in teddy bears to donate, and threw them on the ice to be collected during the first intermission. It was a success and the stuffed animals will be donated to the Salvation Army just in time for the holiday season, thank you Wilderness fans! (teddy bears collected pictured to the left)
Saturday the team went to Austin to play game two of the series. The Wilderness were shutout on the road losing 5-0.
