Wilderness Lose Two in Fairbanks

Friday night the Wilderness lost to Fairbanks 2-1 in a shootout. The only goal on the night from the Wilderness was by Johno May in the second period (16:42). May's goal tied the game 1-1. After regulation and an overtime session the game was still tied and headed to a shootout. The teams needed seven turns to complete the shootout and scoring the game winner was the Ice Dog's Tayler Munson. Wilderness goalie Kasimir Kaskisuo made 37 saves on 38 shots. 

Saturday's game ended in the same score, a 2-1 loss for the Wilderness. Fairbanks started off hot by scoring two goals in the first period and held that lead. The lone goal for Minnesota was by Thomas Lindstrom in the second period (7:58) assisted by Billy Exell. Kasismir had 27 saves on 29 shots for the night. The Wilderness offense was slowed on the night, where they had only 20 shots on goal, previously averaging 29.9 shots per game on the season. 

The Wilderness play Thursday through Saturday in Kenai, Alaska against the Kenai River Brown Bears.
